Privacy Policy

This privacy policy outlines the information I collect from clients and how I store and use it, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations.

1. Collection

I collect the following information from prospective clients:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Background information on the project and an extract of the material to be edited

I collect the following information from clients:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Postal address

  • Background information on the project

  • The file(s) to be edited

  • Any material required for ghostwriting a book

2. Use

I use clients’​ data to:​

  • Provide guidance and quotations for services

  • Carry out services

  • Meet my obligations to HMRC (the UK tax authority)

I do not use data to send marketing communications, but I may get in touch with past clients to see how their writing projects are going. If a client provides a testimonial, I may use that in marketing materials. Unless a client requests otherwise, I may include their project in my portfolio of work.

3. Storage

I store emails in my password-protected email account. I store files on my password-protected computer and external hard-drive.

4. Retention

Many of my clients work with me over the long term. Therefore, unless you request otherwise, I will keep your data for reference in the event that you wish to work with me in the future.

5. Privacy

The only party with which I may potentially share data is HMRC, in the event that my accounts are audited. I will not share your data with any other party without your written permission.

The following companies collect some basic data on visitors to this website via cookies:

7. Questions and updates

You may review the information I keep about you at any time to ensure that it is relevant, correct and up to date.

You may request that I amend your information – or delete it entirely. Please note that HMRC requires me to keep financial records for at least five years from the end of the last financial year to which they relate, but I will delete any other data as required.
